Articulated Timber Ground - Studio Machining Aesthetics

The project team comprised of 14 master students, working collaboratively to design and construct this installation which engages with its surrounding. The studio’s outcome engages a complex relationship between structural and safety requirements, ergonomics and material. Furthermore, the studio involved the use of digital technologies to allow for a direct design to fabrication work flow. The studio was financially endorsed by the Faculty of Architecture and the final studio outcome was built on the northern side of the Melbourne School of Design (MSD) as a permanent installation.
